About the Art Nouveau Letter S design
Upper bowls stay narrower than lower ones throughout this set, so each S seems to settle its weight toward the base. The ends of the stroke carry most of the variety. Two faces finish in round balls that curl back inward, and the heavier one leaves only small pockets of white inside its curves, while a slender version stops both ends with flat upright serifs. Another tapers its tips to thorn-sharp points, and the last slices them off at a slant.
