About the Art Nouveau Letter J design
A tall stem does most of the work in this J, dropping almost the full height before a short hook swings left at the base. The faces disagree about how that hook should end. One closes it in a curled ball, another twists it into a small S-shaped tendril, and one sweeps the whole stroke into a single tapering blade with no hook opening at all. Up top, the caps range from a flared wedge to a rounded bar to nothing, where the stem simply widens as it rises.
