About the Art Deco Number 9 design
Three of these nines load the bowl with heavy black and let the tail sweep down and left like a comma. One face splits its bowl straight down the middle, a hairline curve on the left and a solid half-moon on the right. Two faces go thin as wire and curl the tail back up into a small hook, and one of those carves a crescent sliver down the stem. Another face squares everything off between gently bowed bars at top and bottom.
