About the Art Deco Number 4 design
A hairline diagonal against a slab of a stem sets the contrast in several of these fours. Two faces fill the triangle into a solid leaning block, one of them splitting it with a narrow white slot, while two others bend the diagonal into a loose brushstroke and cap the stem with a sloped flag and a curved foot. The last face drops the diagonal entirely and builds the four from square bars, with a short left post meeting the crossbar and the top left wide open.
