About the Art Deco Number 1 design
The flag is the constant here, a short arm slanting up into the top of the stem, sometimes a long low ramp and sometimes a tight hook. In the heaviest faces the stem swells into a slab nearly as wide as it is tall, with rounded lower corners, and one of those carries a thin slot down its right edge like the spine of a closed book. Other faces thin the stroke to a single hairline or split it into two parallel rails standing on a curved foot.
