About the sign
One character, cut from a single sheet of steel. The letter P is the whole sign: there is no backing plate and no border, so the shape on the wall is the character itself.
8 Art Deco typefaces to choose from, each measured against the steel at every size offered before it was drawn for sale.

About the Art Deco Letter P design
Heavy black slabs form the upright in three faces, each rivaling the bowl beside it in width, while the bowl stays a far lighter curve. Two faces cut a narrow white slot down the stem like a pinstripe. A pair stand on flat curled feet, their top strokes flicking out to the left. The slightest face drops its bowl in a long diagonal that meets the stem well below the top.
