About the Woven Plait Ring design

Braided strands chase each other around this ring, dipping over and under at a steady slant so the band seems to turn. The strands themselves are white, traced by black steel outlines, so the plait looks drawn in negative. Where each strand reaches the rim it folds back, raising a row of small rounded bumps along both edges. The braid takes only a narrow band, leaving a wide plain circle in the middle.
