About the Volleyball design

Three straight bands meet at a junction set left of center and low, then run out to a heavy ring at angles that leave openings of wildly unequal size. Nothing inside the ring curves, so the panels read as flat facets, more like the corner of a box drawn in perspective than anything stitched. Along the left edge and again at the lower right, a band crowds the rim until the gap between them pinches to a thin crescent.
