About the Straight Arrow design

Two diagonal bars meet at a sharp point on the right, drawn as an open chevron rather than a filled triangle. The shaft keeps one width along its whole length and runs into the chevron's inner corner, then stops flat at the left with nothing to mark a tail. Each arm of the head is cut straight across at its far end, blunt as the end of a steel strap, while the two come together at a needle point.
