About the Rugby Ball design
The whole ball tips onto a diagonal, its two blunt points pushing almost into opposite corners. Within the heavy outline sits a second pointed oval, drawn thinner and shifted slightly off the first, so each gap left between the two curves tapers to a fine needle tip. Those matching slivers look like two strips of rind pared off a melon and left lying beside it.
