About the Tilted Slats design

Three thick horizontal bars split the panel into four bands, and within each band the black slats lean at their own angles, some tipping left, some right, a few standing nearly straight. No slat continues into the band above it, so the rows never agree, and the slats tilt the way books settle on a half-empty shelf. Between them the white opens into tall trapezoids and thin wedges that taper to a point. At the sides, outer slats lean against the heavy frame and pinch off slim triangular slivers.
