About the Curved Star Lattice design

White four-pointed stars with slender arms and curved sides sit inside black rings that overlap their neighbors. Where the rings cross, they pinch the remaining white into squares whose sides bow inward and whose corners taper to sharp points. The stars run in staggered rows, so each one sits diagonally from the next. At the solid black border, stars are cut in half and survive only as short slots, while each corner keeps one of the pointed squares.
